You Are Your Own Gym: The Bible of Bodyweight Exercises
If you want to start doing some strength training, but don’t want to buy any equipment – get this book instead! It teaches you exercises using your own body as resistance, sometimes incorporating items you already have around the house, like a towel or a book. Exercises are divided into four groups (push, pull, core, and legs & glutes), and you workout just four times per week (one group per day). There are different programs for different levels, so you don’t need to figure out which ones to do or in what combination. It’s a fantastic resource, and it saves you from joining the gym or buying any equipment!

  1. Physical exercise is important for maintaining physical fitness and can contribute positively to maintaining a healthy weight, building and maintaining healthy bone density, muscle strength, promoting physiological well being, reducing surgical risks, and strengthening the immune system.
